Masoumeh ,
Recently we had our meeting of English language
haiku here in our city. I introduced some of the exchanged information between you and me. You
can read the contents in my site below:
http://248.teacup.com/haikuryo/bbs
However, nearly the half is in Japanese.

I read the page. I like to know what you discussed at meeting.

There were quite a few opinions. As one of them,
related to the following haiku verses:
a swan
fills
the lake

dewdrops on the twigs
expand endlessly absorbing
songs of cicadas
Mrs. Sone said each writer seems to have his/her
mind’s eye.

I agree with her.

Mr. Yoshizawa’s opinion:
“intuition” seems to have a meaning “a part of
something tells us everything”.

I couldn't get what he means .

Masoumeh, I often mention this idea when we have
a meeting of English language haiku. Today I will
show you what Professor Sato wrote for my haiku
when I was awarded the first-prize for my haiku
below in 1984 Haiku In English Contest:

standing on end
among the fallen leaves
a tiny acorn

Ryo Suzuki

Professor Sato’s comment:
It concerns a small surprise that the writer came
upon under an oak tree—an acorn standing on
end among fallen leaves. Whether an acorn lying
or standing is no serious matter. On first reading,
this haiku seems unarresting, but after rereading,
the writer’s attention to and affection for a small
detail in Nature becomes clear. Haiku often evokes
common and easily-overlooked happenings in our
daily life. When successfully expressed, the
ordinary scene suddenly acquires a new meaning.
Suzuki’s haiku is just like that. I feel as if this
tiny acorn embodies even some cosmic significance.

Thank you very much. I understood it better.

I’m pleased you understood the idea related
to intuition much better.
